Kosher All-Inclusive at SLS Playa Mujeres

See Kosher Menus

For observant families, an all-inclusive resort usually means eating around the buffet — or not eating at all. SLS Playa Mujeres is one of the few luxury all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean that solved this properly.

Its kosher program, Liora, brings Mediterranean-inspired kosher cuisine to the resort's restaurants, pool, and in-room dining, under Mehadrin supervision from Cancún's own Rabbi. You get the beach, the suites, and the five-star service — and every meal is one you can actually eat.

The Standard

Mehadrin, Supervised Every Service

Liora runs under the Mehadrin certification and continuous supervision of Rabbi Simantob Rafael Nigri, principal Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Cancún (Neve Shalom). A Mashgiach is on site, ingredients are certified kosher, and food is stored, prepared, and cooked in dedicated areas with dedicated utensils.

Meals are split Halavi and Besarí the way you'd expect — dairy breakfasts, meat lunches and dinners — with Shabbat meals prepared ahead and served on Shabbat timing.

The Practical Details

The kosher program is excellent — but it's an add-on with its own rules, and it's easy to get wrong booking online. Here's what matters:

  • Kosher dining runs as a package (Liora) added per person, per night — it is not included in the standard all-inclusive rate
  • The package is best added at the time of booking; later additions must be requested and prepaid at least 72 hours before arrival
  • Children up to 11 get the kids’ package; guests 12 and older are on the adult package
  • Availability is limited — the package can sell out on peak dates, so book early for holidays and school breaks
  • Groups of 10+ rooms (weddings, family gatherings, simchas) are handled separately with custom kosher banquet menus
